It all started when…
Dasha Gilmore began her studies at the age of five, growing up classically trained as well as studying fiddle music of many styles. She completed her undergraduate degree in Commercial Music (B.A., with a minor in business) at The Florida State University with specialized studies in Violin Performance & Music Entrepreneurship. Dasha is currently pursuing her Masters in Arts Administration (M.A.) at F.S.U. with the goal of expanding her performance and technical horizons within the classical music field.
During her Masters and Undergraduate studies, Dasha performed with regional orchestras, various chamber ensembles and the FSU University Symphony Orchestra. Having a strong passion for new music, she has participated in premieres of new works in smaller chamber and solo settings, from string quartets to aleatoric film scores with live electronics.
In audition to performance pursuits, Dasha has also gained experience as a recording engineer and orchestra stage manager through working at the Aspen Summer Music Festival as well as the Florida State University College of Music concert halls, Ruby Diamond Concert Hall and freelance work.
In her free time, she enjoys biking, running and listening to Tchaikovsky’s Souvenir de Florence on repeat.
